William H. Puerzer Sr.

March 7, 1955 — April 24, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Henry Puerzer Sr. who left us on April 24th, 2025 at the age of 70. Bill or as he was affectionally known to his family as “Papa “was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly.

Bill was born on March 7th, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wi. As a young man he attended Milwaukee Technical College and obtained masonry skills. He started dating his loving wife of 48 years, Susan M. Puerzer, in 1973. They lived with their three children in Milwaukee for nine years before moving to Green Bay, WI. After living for two years in Green Bay, they moved to Oconto Wi. where they settled in for the rest of their years together. In Green Bay, Bill started out as a semi and a delivery truck driver. He then went on to retire after 20 years from St. Vincent DePaul as a floor supervisor where he met his best friends Rick and LC.

Bill and Suzy loved to travel to Savannah Georgia. Every trip there, they visited Tybee Island, where he loved walking on the beach to collect shells. They spent many years adventuring around Wisconsin on Bill’s Harley. They also enjoyed camping with grandchildren in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, at Jordan Park campground. They would always get their favorite spot! Bill loved going to visit his brother Bob in Stevens Point, where they would sit on his deck and talk, and talk until their ticker tape stopped.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Susan M. Puerzer. His three children Willam Jr. (Jennifer) Puerzer, Heidi Puerzer (Josh Shadrick) and Charles (Julie) Puerzer. His eight grandchildren Carissa (Jerid) Stock, Trent Puerzer, Ryan Mitchell, Cyrus Biggs, Bryanna Shadrick, Jesse Puerzer, Jacob Puerzer and Blake Puerzer. His three great-grandchildren Olivia, Owen and Eli. He is also survived by his sisters Barb Frost, Betsy (Norb) Ostrowski, and his brother and best friend Bob (Mary) Puerzer and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his mother and father Joseph and Eileen Puerzer well as his older sister Donna Brown.

The family would like to thank and show appreciation for the Bellin Health medical staff for taking good care of him and to the Unity hospice staff that helped him and us through this difficult time.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor Bill’s life will be held in early summer.
