Wesley Alen Malueg, age 63, of Green Bay, WI passed away from heart failure on Friday, February 27. Wes was born May 24, 1963, to Emanuel and Sylvia (Ploeger) Malueg and grew up in Seymour, WI. As a youngster, Wes was quite a rambunctious child and along with his best friends, Dan & Joe Bluma and Joel Dery, they had a lot of fun goofing off around Seymour.
Wes was a very hard worker and an entrepreneur. His main job was with the Green Bay School District where he served for many years as a custodian, Wes used the abbreviation “DSJ” when stating his profession. With his sense of humor, it stood for dumb s**t janitor! Wes also started many businesses such as Star Bright floor care, Rent a Blimp, M&M Fireworks just to name a few. Wes suffered a stroke in 2005 and lost use of his left arm and limped with his left leg, but that didn’t slow him down. He was known in his neighborhood to help others with lawncare, snow removal and other jobs using his one “good” arm. His neighbors have been wonderful to him over the years and one of them said, “it won’t be the same around here without Wes.”
Wes had three children: Felicia Malueg, Joshua Malueg and Alexander (Alex) Malueg. Both Joshua and Felicia preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death: his parents and siblings JoAnne Malueg and Johnny Malueg.
Alex spent much of Wes’s final weeks with him, as did his sister Karen, brother Wayne and cousin Kurt.
Wes is survived by Alex (Marta) Malueg, Karen Hackleberg (Dave Peterson), Jeff Malueg, Ken (Betty) Malueg, Bonnie Hill, Brenda (Wayne) Vaughan, Wayne (Jaci) Malueg, Kurt Ploeger, best friend Joel Dery and many nieces and nephews.
We want to thank Unity Hospice for both the caregivers and the Unity residence center where Wes was well cared for in his final hours. Also, a big thank you to Senior Helpers for the care they provided along with the staff at St Mary’s hospital where Wes was for a couple weeks.
Simply Cremation is handling the arrangements for Wes, and he will be laid to rest next to his daughter Felicia.
