Timothy "Tim" Alan Hofman

Born on January 10, 1963, in Redlands, CA, Tim grew up in a community rich in Dutch heritage and attended the Redlands Christian School. He often shared memories of growing up surrounded by orange groves and watching Julia Child on television, where he discovered his love of cooking.

After his family moved to San Diego, Tim attended Clairemont High School during the time Cameron Crowe went undercover there while researching the story that would inspire Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Tim enjoyed sharing his own personal memories and experiences from those days. He loved sports especially his beloved basketball, and also enjoyed golfing at Torrey Pines, body surfing The Wedge in Newport Beach, and playing Over-the-Line in Mission Beach.

After high school, Tim entered the magazine distribution business along with his faithful pet sidekick “Sami the dog” where together they expanded regional sales territories with great success. In his 30s, he co-founded the Coronado Cigar Company before moving on to a career in the automotive industry. For the final six years of his working life, Tim was a carrier for the United States Postal Service in Carlsbad, CA.

Tim was a lifelong fan of the UCLA Bruins, Troy Aikman, and the Dallas Cowboys. After moving to De Pere in 2025, he soon became a fan of the Green Bay Packers, brandy Old Fashioned sours with olives, and butter burgers.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents Gordon “Gordo” and RuthAnn (nee’ Kingsfield) Hofman.

Tim is survived by his loving friend and partner Carol McCabe of De Pere; his loved son Mitchell (Mitch the Kid) of San Mateo, CA; sister Lori (Lobi, Lobi) Hofman, her partner Rick Lewis, and his nephew Reede Hofman, all of Santee, CA; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
