Steven Vercauteren

January 7, 1961 — April 10, 2024

Steven J Vercauteren left this life on April 10th, 2024 at the age of 63 with his family by his side, following a brief battle with cancer. We believe he is now with his beloved sister Terrie, having a few drinks and then most likely going fishing in his favorite spot in the U.P. Steve was at times a man of few words, but always ready with a smart ass one liner. Underneath his seemingly prickly exterior, was a kind and gentle person who deeply loved his family and friends. The thing he loved the most was spending time at his cabin as well as fishing and hunting.

While he often enjoyed his solitude, he also liked meeting up with his family and friends for a drink or two at the Chicago Street Pub (Swan Club), where a celebration of his life will take place on Sunday May 19th from 1:00-4:00?

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Vercauteren and his sister Terrie Kussow.

He leaves behind his mother, June Kurowski and siblings Doug (Bobbie), Don (Barb), Debbie (Whitey), Sue (Kenny), and brother in-law Mark Kussow.

Steve will truly be missed!
