Rosella Rita Mertens (Fayas)

Rosella Rita Mertens (Fayas) went to her heavenly home on July 7, 2026 to be with her Lord and her loved ones. Rose was born on November 7, 1937 to Michael and Laura DeGrand Mertens. On September 15, 1956 she married the love of her life, Ronald Fayas. They had 67 years of a wonderful life before Ron's passing on Nov 9, 2023.

Rosella (Rose) loved her family and was always there with love and care when they needed her.

Rose loved to bake banana bread, lemon bread and cookies for family and friends, which they all loved. She also made Belgian pie, Belgian waffles, and pasties as well. She loved to play bingo with friends, play cards, put puzzles together and word searches. When she was able, she would go to watch her grandson, Jared, race in the stock car races.

Rose is survived by her children, Wanda (& Steve ) Mehlhorn, Steve Fayas, Bryan (& Lynn) Fayas, Amy (& Scott) Volltrauer, and son-in-law Jerry Bristol; 10 Grandchildren-Jared Siefert, Nikki Mehlhorn, Adam (& Amanda) Mehlhorn, Mandi Weatherwex, Preston (& Gera) Fayas, Trevor (& Cassey) Fayas, Alyssa (& James) Schulze, Chelsea (& Melick) Washington, Shannon (& Jonathan) Lord, Joshua (& Anna) Volltrauer; 26 Great Grand Children, 2 brothers and sister-in-laws-Marvin (& Charlotte) Mertens, Gene (& Debbie) Mertens, and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ron Fayas, daughter Kathy Bristol, daughter-in-law Lori Fayas; parents Michael & Laura Mertens, her in-laws Mose & Elsie Fayas, her siblings Rita (& Wallace) LeGreve, Richard (& Evelyn) Mertens, LaVerne (& Quintin) Roberts, Marcella (& Richard) Kaye, Deleres (& Mervin) LaCrosse, Mary Ann (& Donald) DeBruin, and Ervin Mertens.

Simple Cremation is caring for the family.

There will be no funeral as requested by Rosella.
