Ronald Fayas

Ronald Edward Fayas was born in Hardwood, Michigan on September 17, 1935 to Moses and Elsie Fayas. Ron went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the age of 88 years at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay, WI.

At the age of eighteen Ron moved to Green Bay, WI. On September 15, 1956 Ron married the love of his life, Rosella Mertens.

Ron worked at a packing house for forty-two years. Then worked driving a shuttle bus for Bellin Hospital employees. Ron loved working with people. Ron loved to fish, golf, bowl, and hunt with his boys and other family and friends. Ron also enjoyed Bible studies with friends. 

Ron loved his family. Ron is survived by Rose Fayas, his wife of sixty-seven years. And four of five children and their spouses he treated like family: son-in-law Jerry Bristol, Wanda and Steve Melhorn, Steve Fayas, Bryan and Lynn Fayas, and Amy and Scott Volltrauer. 

Ron and Rose have ten grandchildren: Jared Siefert, Nikki Melhorn, Adam and Amanda Melhorn, Mandy Weatherex, Preston and Gera Fayas, Trevor and Casey Fayas, Alyssa and James Schulze, Chelsey and Maleaque Washington, Shannon and Jonathan Lord, Joshua and Anna Volltrauer, and twenty-three great grandchildren. 

Sister, Audrey Roy, sister-in-law Marge Fayas, sister-in-law Marcella Kaye, brother-in-law Marvin and Charlotte Mertens, brother in-law Gene and Debbie Mertens, and many nieces and nephews. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Elsie Fayas, his In-laws, Mike and Laura Mertens, daughter-in-law Lori Fayas, and daughter Kathy Bristol, sisters and brothers Blanche and Emil Johnson, Gladys and Herbert Johnson, Pearl and Rasmus Johnson, Mark Fayas, Eldrid and Lorraine Fayas, Roy Peterson, David Roy, in-laws Rita and Wallace LaGrave, Richard and Evelyn Mertens, Laverne and Quinton Roberts, Richard Kaye, Dolores and Mervin LaCrosse, Maryann and Donald DeBriun, and Irvin Mertens.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 P. M. at Oakbrook Church, 3600 Lost Ln, De Pere, WI  54115.
