Ronald Lee Beard

July 5, 1942 — October 6, 2025

Ronald Lee Beard was born on July 5, 1942, in Bell, California, to Leonard E. and Miriam A. (McClain) Beard. He passed away peacefully just after midnight on October 6, 2025, with his wife by his side.

Ron spent his early years in the Los Angeles area before his family moved to Lancaster, California, where they lived on a turkey ranch. There, Ron worked hard caring for the turkeys and maintaining the ranch—skills that served him well throughout his life.

A defining moment for Ron came in July 1961 when he symbolized his dedication to his God, Jehovah, by being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He remained a faithful servant of Jehovah for the rest of his life.

Ron met Carolyn “Sue” Owens, in 1960. They became best friends and were married on November 3, 1962. To support his young family, Ron began working as a civilian employee for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked as a truck driver for nearly 12 years—a profession he continued in various forms during his lifetime.

On May 3rd 1969, Ron and Sue welcomed their son, Joseph Lee. Ron was always very proud to be Joseph’s father.

In the spring of 1974, the family moved to Cache Valley, settling in Logan, Utah, and later in several nearby small towns, including Preston, Idaho. Over the next 40 years, Ron and Sue made many lifelong friendships. Due to health reasons, they relocated to Hoquiam, Washington in 2014, where they again found a loving spiritual family and lasting friendships. Eventually, Ron and Sue moved to Clintonville, Wisconsin, to be closer to their son and his family. The local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses warmly welcomed them, and became loyal and loving friends. These friends helped make the last difficult year of Ron’s life much easier—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Ron was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and generosity. He faced life’s challenges with faith and grace, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Miriam Beard, and his sister, Eloise. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue; his son Joseph (Rachael); grandchildren Austin, Cameron, and Isabella Beard, and Parker Stokes; his sister-in-law Janet Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron’s family remained by his side during his final weeks, cherishing every moment together. His life was a testament to love, faith, and endurance. He will be remembered always with deep affection.

A memorial service held will be held Saturday November 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT). The location will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, N10988 Lakeshore Rd, Clintonville, WI 54929. The memorial service will also be streamed live via Zoom:
