Roger Lee Behringer, 71, passed away peacefully after succumbing to cancer at his sister, Darlene’s home on Sunday April 23, 2023. He was born April 7th, 1952, to Roger and Marylou (Christensen-Behringer, Kopatz). He is survived by his wife Carmen (Kopatz) Behringer of nearly 35 years of marriage. Their son, Roger J (Paige) Behringer. One brother, Bryan (Annette) Behringer, Sisters, Darlene Wolf, Rosemary (Marty) Warden and Beverly Behringer, Sister-in-Law Christine Peterman and Father-in- Law Fred Kopatz. He is further survived by his aunts, Corinne Roscoe and Colleen (Ed) Gregorich as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Roger grew up on a farm in Kelly Brook where he attended grade school. He was a 1970 graduate of Oconto Falls High School and love attending his class reunions. He attended UWGB for two years before being drafted into the Army, where he served from 1972-74. He resumed his education at UW-Madison earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. He made his career in the newspaper business with the Milwaukee Journal and the Green Bay Press Gazette, in 1997 he also joined Ozark National Life Insurance and achieved top salesman and was awarded a trip to Paris for him and his wife.

Roger loved spending time at the getaway in Townsend where he would fish and enjoy campfires. He truly loved his morning coffee, reading the newspaper and his scratch off’s. Roger was an active member of the American Legion Post 302 in Oconto Falls.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Daniel Behringer, his aunt and uncle Carol and Bob Panetti as well as brother and sister-in- law Craig and Ronnie Kopatz.

A memorial service will be held at the Hickory Church, 8892 Co Rd G, Suring, WI on May 20, 2023, where Roger was a lifelong member. The visitation will be from 9-11am and a service will follow at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the American Legion post 302 Oconto Falls, WI.
