January 11, 1970 — January 28, 2015

Robert Carl DeShazer, 45, Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Indianapolis IN, embarked on his journey to man's final frontier on Wed, Jan 28, 2015, at Thedacare Medical Center in Neenah, WI. He was born in Indianapolis, IN, on Jan 11, 1970. Robert graduated from Broad Ripple High School. Some years later, after a brief stint in a traveling carnival, Robert found himself living in Sturgeon Bay WI. He became an active member of the Sturgeon Bay chapter of Jaycees and raised two children. He worked at Hatco Industries for many years before an accident left him partially disabled. Robert was extremely generous and will be missed greatly by his many friends and family. Robert will be long remembered for his fondness for video games, his mischievous nature, and generally being the life of the party wherever he was and wherever he went. He was a rock, a constant and generous source of comfort and support and will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

He is survived by, and will be forever missed by, his loving wife, Andrea; one son, David, one daughter, Gretchen; one step-daughter, Alexis; aunt (maternal), Valerie Tibbs, and cousins Chilyn Starks, Angie Webb, and Michael Starks; aunt (maternal) Jacqueline Ellis, and cousins Kimberly Caudle and Tia Shanklin; father, Ashley Nickelson; mother-in-law, Bonnie Spencer, and her life partner Robin Moritz; brother-in-law Bob Veium, and his three children, Michael Veium, Gavin Veium , and Keegan Veium; his friend, Brenda Besaw, and Robert’s god-children, Zan and Xavi; and his faithful companion, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gretchen DeShazer; one brother, Edward "Cheese" DeShazer; and his friend, Russell Besaw.

The family would like to thank those that provided assistance in the stressful time. Thank you sincerely for all your thoughts and prayers.
