Richard Dean Woodruff, Jr.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard D. Woodruff, who passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 61.

Richard was a man who lived boldly and loved deeply. He never met a stranger, and his contagious laughter, adventurous spirit, and generous heart left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Full of life until the very end, Richard believed every day was meant to be lived with excitement, purpose, and love.

Born on January 5, 1965 to Adlynbell M. Woodruff and Richard D. Woodruff Sr., Richard was the youngest of fifteen siblings. Growing up in a large family taught him resilience, loyalty, and the importance of family bonds that he carried with him throughout his life. He was a proud Catholic whose faith remained an important part of who he was.

Richard was known to the public as "Woody" in Illinois, where he ran a chain of smoke shops called Woody's Smoke Shop. He later owned a restaurant and bar, building a name for himself through hard work, honesty, and a larger-than-life personality. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a respected and well-known figure in the community.

Richard's journey took him from Illinois to Las Vegas, Nevada, before he found the peace he had long searched for in Crivitz, Wisconsin. Surrounded by nature, he found joy in the quiet scenery and the beauty of God's creation. He proudly purchased his home there and, on October 6, 2019, fulfilled another dream by purchasing Force One Enterprise, continuing his successful career as an electrician. The date was especially meaningful to him because it was his daughter Kaylee's birthday, making one of the proudest accomplishments of his life even more memorable. Through hard work, determination, and skill, he built not only a successful business but a reputation as a man others could depend on.

Richard had a deep passion for life. He loved race cars, horses, gambling, and spending carefree days at water parks. Above all, he loved his Dodge Challenger--his favorite car. Whether watching the roar of engines on a racetrack, enjoying the thrill of the casino, or simply making memories with those he loved, Richard found happiness in every adventure. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he had a remarkable way of making ordinary moments unforgettable.

Above all else, Richard was a proud father. He leaves behind six children who were his greatest legacy: Kyle Woodruff, Keith Woodruff Kameron Woodruff, and Kaylee Woodruff, whom he shared with Dawn Woodruff, and Meadow Gilreath and Genevieve Gilreath, whom he shared with Leslie Gilreath. Though life took many different paths, including four marriages, his love for his children remained a constant source of pride.

Richard leaves behind a lifetime of memories shared with his family, friends, siblings, and everyone blessed enough to know him. His strength, humor, wisdom, and larger-than-life personality will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we rejoice in knowing that love never dies. We will carry his stories, his laughter, and the lessons he taught us through every season of our lives.
