Ramona Kay Johannson – McLeod, age 64 of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, April 20th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 8th, 1961 to the late Lavern Johannson and Colleen (Dean) Johannson.

Throughout her life she lived in many places such as Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Arizona, and here in Wisconsin. She was married to her husband Jerel for 25 years and they enjoyed spending quality time together watching their favorite shows, movies, discussing their favorite books, and swapping the newspaper back and forth. Ramona worked as a Nursing Aid and an EMT early in her life.

Some of Ramona’s most fond memories was listening to 80’s music such as Def Leppard, going to concerts to see the Rolling Stones, Queen, U2, and many more throughout her life, and loved celebrating holidays with family, spending quality time with her daughters, and grandchildren. If she wasn’t spending time with family, Ramona was spending time running a Def Leppard fan group on Facebook.

Ramona is lovingly survived by her mother: Colleen (Dean) Johannson; daughters: Raenelle Smith (significant other: Shawn), and Lizzie (Christopher) Niebauer; grandchildren: Bailey McMillan, Ethan and Abigail Robinette, and Liam Beyer; brother: Mark Johannson. She is further survived by a niece and a nephew. In addition to her father Lavern Johannson, Ramona was proceeded by the death of her husband Jerel McLeod; Grandmother Edna (Pausch) Johannson.

Ramona fought a short but hard battle against Glioblastoma brain cancer. Ramona’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at Theda Clark Neenah Hospital’s Neuro Unit, Neurology team, Theda Clark’s 5th floor, ThedaCare Hospice, Peabody Manor, Cherry Meadows Hospice, Supportive Learning Care, and Lakeland Care. The compassionate care provided to Ramona, and family will never be forgotten.

There will be no funeral service held. Ramona’s wishes are for her family to spend quality time as a family for a weekend to celebrate her life.
