Phyllis E. (Labrenz) Veldman

Phyllis Elizabeth (Labrenz) Veldman, 91, De Pere, died Tuesday, June 11, 2023, at a local assisted living facility. She was born March 6, 1932, in Montello, WI.

Phyllis was a secretary for Director of Nursing at Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, IL from 1953-1955. She married Hal Leland Veldman on July 17, 1955, in Oxford, WI. She then worked as a secretary to the Registrar at Emmanuel Missionary College from 1955-1959, Berrien Springs, MI, and later became a stay-at-home mom. 

Phyllis and Hal had three children: Sandra, Colleen and Jeffrey, and 2 granddaughter’s that were very special to her. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and freezing her produce. She was a member of the Green Bay Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Green Bay, WI.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Toby) Paulsen; son, Jeffrey (Carrie) Veldman; two granddaughters, LeeAnn (Josh) McCoy and Michelle (Michael) Webberley; two great-grandsons; one brother, Donald Labrenz; one nephew, Owen Labrenz; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Labrenz.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hal, her brother, Ken Labrenz; and her daughter, Colleen Veldman.

Phyllis will be laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery, at a later date.
