Peggy Ellen Collins (Coppens)

October 8, 1971 — June 14, 2025

Oconto Falls, WI

Peggy Ellen Collins, age 53, of Oconto Falls, WI, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and three daughters.

Born on October 8, 1971, in Oconto Falls to her beloved parents Lucille and Norman Coppens, Peggy was the youngest of 12 children—the cherished “baby” of the family.

Peggy met the love of her life, Rob Collins, and the two were wed on February 14, 1992. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, care, and commitment—a strong and growing family tree. Peggy was a devoted mother to three daughters—Brianna, Brooke, and Amber. She dedicated her life to caring for others, especially her youngest daughter, Amber, with unwavering devotion and compassion.

Her love extended deeply to her sons-in-law, Clint and Broc, and especially to her five grandchildren—Skyler, Eleanor, Gemma, Everly, and Charlotte—who were the light of her life and, by all accounts, lovingly spoiled by her tender heart, homemade treats, and nurturing spirit.

Her motherly love reached far beyond her immediate family—touching nieces, nephews, friends, and anyone lucky enough to be held in her embrace.

Through every quiet act of care and every meaningful conversation around the kitchen table, Peggy wove warmth, strength, and love into her home—creating a place where everyone felt seen, safe, and deeply loved.

Outside of caring for her family, Peggy found joy in many simple, meaningful things. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, camping, fishing, listening to country music, and spending quality time with the people she loved most.

Peggy’s legacy is one of fierce love, selfless care, and a heart that made everyone feel at home. Her presence was a gift; her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Rob; daughters Brianna (Clint) Ryczek, Brooke (Broc) Bitters, and Amber Collins; her five cherished grandchildren; siblings Danny (Dawn) Coppens, Julie Harteau, Patti (Charlie) Zielinski, Charles Coppens, Robert (Angela) Coppens, Norman Coppens, and Todd Coppens; and her father-in-law, Roland Collins. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, additional loving family members, friends, and good-hearted neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Lucille Coppens; brothers David, James, and Gerald Coppens; sister Debbie Maass; mother-in-law Wanda Collins; and nephew Kevin Zielinski.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be announced by the family at a later time.

The family kindly asks for donations in Peggy’s honor to PRISM (Parents and Researchers Interested in Smith-Magenis Syndrome) or Unity Hospice Care. For those wishing to celebrate her memory in a more personal way, consider planting a tree or one of the many flowers she loved—hibiscus trees, rose bushes, lilacs, bleeding hearts, or any plant that can be lovingly tended, just as she so lovingly nurtured everyone around her.
