Pamela Fay Bracewell, age 67, in Appleton WI, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She battled cancer courageously.
Pam was born on April 15, 1959 in St. Croix Falls, WI, to Reverend Alfred Schubring and Marlene (Salzwedel) Schubring. In 1983, Pam married her beloved husband, Thomas Bracewell. Together, they were devoted parents to two children. They traveled, loved nature, and enjoyed countless visits to their North Woods cabin in Conover, WI.
Pam began her career as a counselor and social worker to underprivileged and troubled teenagers/youth. She then went back to school for a degree in Education. She became a teacher, and helped run several alternative high schools for troubled teens on their last options for schooling. She has served thousands of children in her lifetime.
Pam loved to cook. She always made sure there was plenty of food for everyone, including neighbors and friends (especially children). Her home was an open pantry and inviting place for all. In her younger adult years, she enjoyed reading, antiquing with her husband, fishing, boating, camping, road trips, and actively participating in her children's activities. As she aged, her interests slowed down. She found great joy in watching wildlife (especially hummingbirds), thrift store bargain hunting, and small vegetable gardens. But most of all, she loved taking care of her beloved pet dogs; Angie, Molly, Didi, Lilly, and Ellie.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her older brother Paul (Vicki) Schubring; her daughter, Katie (Chris) Prey; her son Thomas (Samantha Piazza) Bracewell; and her granddaughters, Evie and Winnie Prey.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A special thank you to her husband, son, and Samantha Piazza for being her primary caregivers during her fight with cancer. Thank you also to her in-home hospice workers.
Pamela has requested no funeral.
In lieu of a memorial service, the family will hold a private gathering to honor Pam's memory.
She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
