Omar II Wayne Wilson, 85, of Green Bay, WI, joined the love of his life Sharon Wilson on 04/20/2026. Everyone who knew Omar knew he was one of the first to make you laugh, think, or roll your eyes. You probably heard one of his many stories; meaning you couldn’t tell if he spoke the truth or was pullingyour leg. He had a love for the arts in all forms, from the barbershop quartet he was in as a young adult, to the blind art he made in his later years, all the way to the notorious movie collection we are stuck with.
Omar was born on August 27, 1940, in Jackson, Ohio to parents Omar and Margaret (Peggy) Wilson. After high school he went on to the Air Force where he served our country for 4 years. He married Sharon Wilson (Henshaw) on 03/13/1971, where they started a lifetime together building a loving family.
Omar built a career selling truck equipment for many years; he worked for Gates Rubber Company which led him to Green Bay. He worked in sales in various companies; then he went on to Shopko Distribution where he retired. Omar was the type of guy to make himself known not only at work, but in the community he surrounded himself with. After retirement, he enjoyed time in his outdoor garden and his local community coffee group building a social circle for him and Sharon to enjoy their later years together.
Omar is survived by his sister Elotia Mcalister (Troy), his 11beautiful children; Omar III (Emily) Wilson (Max, Zoe), Bryant (Jill) Glando (Derek, Alexander), Shannon Tilleman (Terry)(Corey, Shane, Dustin, Blair), Sean Maroney (Karen) (Brynn, Helen, Erin, Maddie), Kathleen Wilson (Tanner, MorganKae), Robert Wilson (Rachel) (Michael, Cullin), Arthur Wilson, Christopher (Debbie) Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson (Jaidyn, Lucas), Misty (Scott) Snydle (Victoria, Charlotte), Lance Wilson. Omar was dearly loved by his 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Omar and Margaret Wilson, his loving wife Sharon, and his grandson Cameron Maroney.
Omar passed surrounded by children, family, and love. We, as a family, would like to thank Emplify health; Dr. Rachel VandenLangenBerg, Dr. Hudson. The wonderful caregivers of Unity Hospice, Lakeland Health, and SeniorHelpers (Jen).
A celebration of Omar’s life will be held at Hamlet Creek, 3562 Finger Rd, Green Bay, WI 54311, on May 4, 2026. Visitation from 2 pm until 4 pm, followed by a quiet service from 4 pm to 5 pm. Omar would appreciate it if you wore your funkiest socks.
