Nancy Mross

August 24, 1956 — January 27, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Nancy Mross on Jan. 27, 2026, at the age of 69. She was born in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Chet and Helen Schabel. She lived in many places throughout her life including Germany, Ohio, California, and Washington. She moved to Wisconsin in the early 1980s to Laona, later moving to Crandon, and then finally Shawano.

Nancy was a devoted homemaker whose life was defined by love, selflessness, and family. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her husband of 34 years: Andy - a disabled Army veteran, and her daughter Rayna, who also lives with a disability. Nancy’s quiet strength and unwavering commitment were the foundation of her family.

Nancy found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. She loved crafting, cooking, and baking, often sharing her talents with those she loved. One of her favorite traditions was mother-daughter days spent having lunch together, creating memories she cherished deeply. Above all, Nancy treasured time with her great-grandchildren, lovingly known to them as “Gigi.” She called them her “littles,” and they were truly her pride and joy.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Helen Schabel, and her son-in-law.

She is survived by her loving husband, Andy Mross; her children, Ron Garlinghouse, Rayna Garlinghouse, and April Hatfield (Greg Hawk); her grandchildren, Aerial, Austin, Ashley, Butch Jr., and step-grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren, Gracelynn, Madelynn, and Ezekeal; and sister Linda Marvin.

Nancy’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched through her kindness, devotion, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
