Michelle Reneé Nielsen, age 54, of Green Bay, passed away on October 30, 2026.
She was born on September 26, 1972 in Jacksonville, Florida to Theodore “Ted” Nielsen and Cheryl (Smith) Winkel. Michelle was proud of the fact that even though she was unable to complete high school, later in life she received her high school equivalency diploma and then obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in small business. Her most recent employment was with Foley’s Tree Service working in their office. She was previously employed as a Vet Tech helping care for animals, a job she loved, and at Titletown Pest Pro where she was able to meet many wonderful people and make good friends.
Michelle loved spending time with her children, family and friends. She also loved animals and helping to care for them. She loved road trips and being able to see and explore new places. She especially loved the ocean and lived in the sun, soaking up the rays every chance she got. She loved Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and felt blessed and thankful for all the wonderful people she met on rides. Riding her Harley made her feel free and she always loved the wind in her hair.
Michelle lived her life to the fullest and even near the end, she refused to let her illness stop her. She was able to travel, spend time with people she loved, and even take a cruise. Cancer could slow her down but not stop her.
Michelle is survived by her mother, Cheryl Winkel, children Averi (special friend Alexandria) Nielsen, Hunter Blake, and Aydan Higgins, grandson Aaron Nielsen, sisters Kathryn (Steven) Meadowcroft, and Tara (Dean) Witterholt, nieces and nephews Devan (Emilia), Tynne, Kearah, Adaya, Arianna, Byron, and Owen, stepmother Karen Nielsen, as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Ted, son Aaron Kennelly, paternal grandparents Meredith and Agnes Nielsen, maternal grandparents James Smith and Helena Crews, and her favorite pet and furbaby Phantom.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday November 22 at 3:00pm at Pamperin Park East Hall. 2801 County Road RK Green Bay, WI 54303
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Unity Hospice for their care and comfort shown to Michelle throughout this difficult time.
