Michael “Mike” Ann (Sorenson) Lynch, 73, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2024, after a long illness. She was the third of four children, born on January 29, 1951, to James and Mary (Voss) Sorenson. Michael Ann married Bruce Francis Lynch on June 26, 1976, at Saint Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Michael Ann was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, friend, and so much more! She had a quirky, endearing sense of humor that brought great joy to all she knew, as well as a kind and thoughtful heart. Mike graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1973 with a degree in Special Education. She spent many years as a teacher for children with hearing impairments. Mike was an avid crafter and scrapbooker, and she loved camping out at Captain’s Cove in Grasham and spending time in Florida at the beach. Mike’s beautiful scrapbooks, and more importantly, her beautiful soul, left a legacy of love that will be passed on for many generations.
Michael Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Sorenson, and her brother Steven Sorenson.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Bruce Lynch, her sister Joan (Mike) Yates, her brother Tom (Sue) Sorenson, her children Shawn (Lisa) Lynch, Evan (Nikki) Lynch, Mary (Jeremy) Goddard, Kristen (Nick) Stewart, her grandchildren Mackenzie Van Den Bogart (special friend Tyler Petersen), Lydia Lynch, Cadence Lynch, Anna Lynch, a sister-in-law Debra (Bill) Horn, her nieces and nephews Edward Converse, Melissa Horn (Adam Vander Velden), Melanie Horn, Kimberly (Kevin) Kluba, Anthony Horn, and many extended relatives and dear friends.
Mike’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bellin Medical Center and Unity Hospice, for the compassionate care she received during her final months. Family and Friends may call at St Mary of the Angels, 650 S Irwin Ave., on Friday, October 11, from 9:30am-10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Fr. Bill Stout, OFM and Deacon Paul P Umentun, OFS. Burial will be Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
