Michael Krueger

Jul 20, 1962 — Jul 27, 2026

Michael Krueger, 64, of Shawano passed away July 27, 2026 after health complications stemming from a stroke.

Born on July 20, 1962, Mike spent most of his life farming, trucking, and logging. He was a hard worker who wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. If something needed done, he did it. If it needed fixed, he figured it out—or had an opinion on how it should be done.

To know Mike was to know a man who could be stubborn, opinionated, and, at home, a real pain in the ass. Out in public, however, he was a people person who could talk to just about anyone and usually left with a new story or a new friend.

He was a man of few words, but when he spoke it usually came with wisdom, sarcasm, or a blunt honesty that made it stick.

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, smoking, and sharing a drink and a story with friends. Some of his favorite memories were made on hunting and fishing trips, including many trips to Canada to spend time with his good friend Gus.

He also enjoyed cooking and never understood the idea of “just enough.” There was always more food than needed, a pan of brownies somewhere nearby, and usually another dish added to the table just when everyone thought the meal was done.

Family meant everything to him, even if he didn’t always show it in obvious ways. He loved his children and was very proud of them, but nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life.

One of the most meaningful relationships in his life was the friendship he shared with his former wife, Angie. Though their marriage ended, their friendship endured, and she remained by his side and a source of support until the end.

He will be remembered for his hard work, his stubborn , and his sense of humor. He may not have made life easy, but he made it memorable.

Survivors include his children, Dustin (Katie) Krueger, Kourtney Erickson, Blake Krueger; grandchildren, Axlyn Erickson, Augustus Krueger; bonus step grandchildren, Brady and Sullivan; mother, Sandra (Reggie) Zastrow; siblings, Jeff (Tracy) Krueger, Linda (Rich) Beaversdorf, Brad (Vicki) Krueger; special friend Jim Ludvigsen.

Preceded in death by his father, John Krueger; special friend, "Smiley" Brian Miller.

A funeral service will be held at Red River Sportsmans Club W8995 Beech Rd Shawano on August 15th at 1 PM with a celebration of life to follow.
