Maureen L. McDaniel of Amberg met her Savior, fully sighted, completely healed, and without pain. Maureen passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 in Green Bay. She was born on July 15, 1956 the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lillian (Hilsabeck) Anderson.
When Maureen was 5 years old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lost much of her vision. Her resilience and sass kept her in good stead as she attended Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Janesville. She eventually returned home and finished her studies at Wausaukee High School.
When Maureen was 19, she met the love of her life, James (Jim) McDaniel. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1975 and remained married until his passing in 2015. Together they had three beautiful children, Joshua, Kendra and Zackery, stillborn.
Maureen had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She never lost an opportunity to share the love of her Lord, especially if it was a doctor getting ready to operate on her.
Maureen loved her community and volunteered at The W.E. Store and Athelstane Fire Department Auxiliary, she also participated in the Amberg Community Contata. She never let her lack of sight or other physical limitations hold her back. She was a wonderful cook and made many memories with her older grandchildren, especially making bread.
Maureen is survived by her children Joshua McDaniel, Kendra(Jeremy) Strzelecki. Grandchildren, Desiree (Patrick) Barber, Destany (Damyon) McDaniel, Zachary ( Annie) McDaniel, and her special “Little Buddy” Jerick Strzelecki. Great Grandchildren , Aleah, Avery and Aria Busse, Noah Cobb,and Ryder McDaniel. Sisters, Paulina Sulewski, Wretha Jacobs, Darlene ( Ken) Jones, Coleen (Steve) Wojtysiak ; Brothers, Kenneth (Kate) Anderson, Keith (June) Anderson, Harold ( Patricia) Anderson.
Proceeded in death by her husband Jim McDaniel, infant son Zackery, parents Kenneth and Lillian Anderson, sisters, Paula Anderson, Geraldine Locke, Margaret Hirte, Brothers, Gerald Anderson and William Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 26, 2025 at Prime Quarter Supper Club, 2610 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay,WI; 11:00am - 2:00pm. Potluck Luncheon to follow, please bring a dish to share, ham and buns will be provided.
