Marcia Renier

GREEN BAY: Marcia Kay Renier (nee Holsteen), age 76, passed away the morning of February 18, 2026, with her children at her side.

Marcia was born in Superior, Nebraska on January 14, 1950, the only daughter of Clifford Eugene and Donna Lee Holsteen (nee Michaud).

She was raised on the family farm outside of Nelson, NE. She attended Nelson schools where she was a Girl Scout, majorette, Y-Teen queen, and Pep Club president.

At the age of 18 Marcia moved to Chicago where she worked for Hertz Rent-a-Car. After moving to northeast Wisconsin, she was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light, Brown County Publishing, and the Green Bay Area Public School District. She also spent several years in Madison and Sun Prairie, WI.

Marcia loved spending time with family, quilting, scrapbooking, and jigsaw puzzles. She had a huge heart and always put the needs of others before her own.

Marcia is survived by children Lisa Renier Thomas (Scott Thomas) of Baraboo, Benjamin Renier (Deanne Taicher-Renier) of Green Bay, and Timothy Renier of Green Bay; grandchildren Darian Renier, Genevieve Thomas, and Jack Brinker; great-granddaughter Zamora Mejia; brothers Ronald (June) Holsteen of Parsons, KS, Michael (Lea Ann) Holsteen of Ridgedale, MO, and Dennis (Susan) Holsteen of Lincoln, NE; Kelly Brinker, Liz Hoffman, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves behind her loyal cat, Boris.

In addition to her parents, Marcia is predeceased by a sister-in-law, Connie Holsteen.

The family is grateful for the exceptional care and compassion provided by the staff of Aurora BayCare and DaVita Kidney Care.

Simply Cremation of Green Bay is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Per Marcia’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Please hold her in your heart.
