Lorraine Elizabeth Shemoncofsky

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Shemoncofsky. She was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, faithful sister, and friend.

Lorraine had reached nearly 91 years of age, having passed away in Green Bay on July 15, 2025 and having been born on August 10, 1934 in La Coste, TX. She and her husband of 48 years, Don Shemoncofsky, were married on June 24, 1976. Lorraine was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness on July 5, 1963.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Don Shemoncofsky, her parents Anastacio (Andy) and Julia Cordova, her brother Ramon (Ray) Cordova, and her sister Maria (Mary) Fairchild. Her children are Frank Homme - deceased (Sharon Ducat), Maureena (Mark) Smith, Elizabeth Homme, Veronica Roskom, and Yvonne Edler. Other surviving relatives include sisters Anastacia (Ann) De Keyser and Dominga Rein, sister-in-law Marilyn Cordova, brother-in-law Dan Fairchild, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine’s life pleasures included travel, gardening, reading, shopping, and, as a faithful Jehovah’s Witness, her Bible education work.

Several Bible truths that Lorraine loved sharing were especially comforting to her during her final days. She was convinced that God’s promised paradise would soon come on earth and that our enemy, death, will soon be no more! (1 Corinthians 15:26; Revelation 21:3, 4)

We, as did Lorraine, look forward to the fulfillment of God’s promise at John 5:28. That verse tells us that all those in the memorial tombs will hear Christ’s voice... and come out! Yes, our God promises that there will be a resurrection to life right here on earth! And what a blessed day that will be. Until then we long to be reunited with Lorraine and all our departed loved ones.

A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s

Witnesses, located at 3065 West Mason Street in Green Bay, WI.
