Lisa Marie (Smits) Roskom

October 5, 1966 — May 15, 2026

Lisa Marie (Smits) Roskom, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 15 after a courageous and long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born to Donald and Lois Smits on October 5, 1966, Lisa lived a life defined by her deep love for family, her tireless dedication to others, and her joyful spirit.

Lisa and her husband Craig were married on August 24, 1991, building a life and family together that was the center of her world. She is survived by Craig, her devoted husband of nearly 35 years; her three children, McKenzie (Colin) Heim, Megan (David) Ebben, and Brennan; and her three grandchildren: Peter (4), Abby (2), and Avery (10 months) who truly brought a light to her life. She is furthermore survived by her mother Lois, and her siblings.

For more than 22 years, Lisa poured herself into her work as a special education teacher in the Ashwaubenon School District, where she shaped the lives of countless students until her retirement in 2016. Lisa was a dedicated volunteer, giving her time to Ribbon of Hope and numerous other causes close to her heart. She faithfully served her community by working the voting polls, always believing in civic responsibility and showing up for others.

Lisa had a deep love of travel, and some of her most treasured memories were made on adventures with Craig. They had recently gone to Portugal and Spain, loved to visit Ireland and Italy, and travelled around the United States as far as their van and e-bikes would take them.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Green Bay Distillery on May 26th from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ribbon of Hope Foundation in Lisa’s honor.
