July 23, 1951 — November 26, 2025

Linda Sue Summers (Schwader), 74, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on 11/26/25, unexpectedly, surrounded by her loved ones.

Linda was born 7/23/1951 in Suamico, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Margarite Schwader (Wolfram). Linda was in the foster care system and was raised by Leo and Noelle Meier who Linda loved dearly.

Linda graduated from Southwest High School in 1969. Linda became a Nursing Assistant after high school.

Linda married Benjmain Vieau and was married for 10 lovely years, and they had their daughter, Makin (Vieau) then was married to Donald Summers for about 10 years. Linda met Miles Chandler, the love of her life and married him in 2006 in Las Vegas until he passed away in 2014.

Linda worked as an Economic Support Specialist for Oneida Nation for 46 years, retiring in 2024. Linda took pride in her work and especially loved caring for her nursing home clients. She also made life-long friends in her many years working for the tribe as well.

Linda especially loved collecting Native American artwork, antiques, playing cribbage, thirty-one, visiting the casino, but most of all, spending time with her family, who meant everything to her. Linda loved her Cribbage Family that she met in Vegas every year, she played Thirty-One with her friends Leah, Kim and Linda every Friday night and played cards most mornings at Some Place Else in Green Bay. Linda loved hard, cared about her family and friends deeply and was always there for anyone in a time of need. She’s known as ‘Mom’ and ‘Grandma’ to many more people than just her children and grandchildren- a few special people very close to her heart were Colin Summers, Steven Patske, Carrie Laverdiere and Kelsey Schaller- she loved them as if they were her own family. Linda had a fiery soul, she was a woman that always spoke her mind, she had a special place in her heart for her grandkids and great grandkids, she will never be forgotten. She made a mark on so many people’s lives and will be dearly missed.

Remaining to cherish Linda’s memory are her children William Vieau, Makin Diedrich (Brian); grandchildren, Amber Martens (Alan), Brandon Diedrich (Billy) and Brianna Diedrich; great-grandchildren, Jaxyn, Brynlee and Araya; brothers, Donald Schwader and Bill Schwader; many nieces and nephews that meant so much to Linda as well

A celebration of life will be held December 13, 2025 at 2 pm at Four Way Bar & Restaurant in Suamico- anyone that knew and loved Linda is more than welcome to attend.

Linda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay who cared for her in her final days and ensured she was comfortable and were so supportive for her family.
