It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda L. Garling, a loving mother, passionate bookworm, and ardent cat lover. Linda passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, surrounded by her devoted children. She was 77.
Linda was born on April 1, 1948, to Earl and Audrey Fletcher in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1966 and went on to study education at Kaukauna Teacher College. In 1972, she married and soon embraced what would become her greatest role: being a mom.
From the moment she became a mom to Todd and Carrie, Linda found her true calling. She gave selflessly to ensure her children were loved, supported, and safe. She built a home filled with warmth, kindness, and laughter—shaping not only lives but hearts.
Linda’s endless patience and unwavering love guided her family through both joyful moments and difficult times. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed reading, crafting, genealogy research, and computer games. When she wasn’t filling her home with love and laughter, she could often be found lost in a book or seated at her desk, immersed in tracing family trees or playing her favorite games.
Her nurturing spirit, steady support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children and anyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her son, Todd Garling; her daughter, Carrie Garling; her sister, Diane (Hank) Gauthier; three nephews; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Audrey Fletcher, and her grandparents, Walter and Francis Kubiak.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary at https://safehavenpet.org/donate/ in honor of Linda’s love for her feline companions.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, there will be no formal services. However, the family may hold an informal celebration of life at a later date. Details will be shared at that time.
