Linda Ferguson, 83, Green Bay, WI, left us peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion.
The daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Vincent) Maricque was born on June 5, 1942, in Green Bay, WI.
She is survived by Robert, her husband of 61 years, her daughter Cara and husband Jeff Ellis and her granddaughter Nicole. Her sisters-in-law Marlene (Michael) Maricque and Joelle (Frederick) Ferguson and many nieces and nephews and their families, and so many friends who will forever cherish her memory. Preceded in death are Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Harold and Lydia Ferguson, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law Gerald & Patricia Selissen, Kenneth & Joyce O’Dell, Duaine “Jipper” & Lois Allard and Brother Michael Maricque.
Linda enjoyed life… She was artistic, creative and loved having fun with family and friends. Their home is a gallery of her passions: walls bright with her paintings, shelves lined with hand-crafted treasures, and rooms filled with music, laughter, and warmth. She encouraged her loved ones to follow their own creative path. There are so many memories of “Up North”, trips with the PA Fergies, Road America, flying in the Clipper, sailing adventures and an appreciation for “conjuring liquid gold from grain and hops”. Linda was also a proud Army Veteran who served from 1961-1963. She wore her Women’s Army Corps hat with pride and honor. She also appreciated local history and was a member of the Brown County and Allouez Historical Society.
We also want to thank the nurses at Bellin Hospital Orthopedic and the wonderful staff of Unity Hospice for their care and compassion during the last several weeks.
Though we mourn her loss deeply, we also celebrate the gift of her life. A Celebration of Life will be held at Titletown Brewery Rooftop Sky Lounge on Sunday, August 24th at 320 N. Broadway, Green Bay, WI from 12:00 – 4:00.
Instead of sending flowers that will eventually fade, the family hopes to create a living memorial for Linda with plants that they can cherish and nurture. Linda enjoyed gardening/nature, so a plant arrangement would be a way to provide a lasting memory.
