Leon Dale Jandrey, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2025, in Appleton, WI, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on June 29, 1939, in Peshtigo, WI, Leon lived a life of dedication, friendship, and love—a life he humbly described as “just an old man passing through.”
Leon proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961, stationed in Turkey, achieving the rank of Airman 2nd Class. He spent over 30 years at Badger Paper Mill before retiring in 1994.
A passionate Wisconsin sports fan, he loved cheering for the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He worked security for UW–Madison events and cherished the bonds he formed with coaches and players. Leon’s favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, and sharing stories with loved ones.
Leon was preceded in death by his brother Richard Jandrey, his parents Ralph and Inez Sturdevant, his grandson Joshua Rabideau, and his second wife Patricia Limberg.
He is survived by his loving partner and best friend, Felix Bruette; his former wife, Mary Ann Lahna; his children, Dan (Monica) Jandrey, Jay Jandrey (Stephanie Saucedo), Tina Rabideau, and Tami Pulley; and grandchildren Caleb, Lilith, Nathan, Tyler, Tiffany, Thomas, Amber, Alex, Mitchell, Lucas, Isaac, Alexis, and Fernando.
Leon will be remembered for his unwavering warmth, resilience, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on May 8 at Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo, WI.
