Lawrence James Laundre, age 70, of Green Bay, passed away July 30th, surrounded by family. He was born December 4, 1955, to the now late Richard and Carol (Radej) Laundre.
Larry was an amazingly intelligent man. Around him, you never needed to look anything up. We could go to him with a question whether it be history, movies, actors, etc and he would know the answers.
Larry was always an avid lover of video games. He knew when and what time the newest releases were, with the most recent and his absolute favorite Assassin's Creed. He shared this love with his son and grandchildren, who always loved to hop in his spot to play his games.
He was an amazing cook and could always make a 5 star meal with whatever ingredients were available. His specialties were his Award Winning Chili, pepper steak, goulash and so much more.
Larry's absolute favorite pastime was going for rides and exploring. You could always find Larry and Tammy exploring the next little town with antique stores, restaurants and the most beautiful scenery. He enjoyed riding with the windows down, wind blowing and music playing. Ever since he was little he was always an outdoor explorer.
Above all else, Larry was a huge family man. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings and extended family at all the amazing packer parties and family get togethers. He cherished every moment spent together and made sure those he loved always knew how much they meant to him. Larry was big in stature but was the most kind, gentle person which is where he received the name "Gentle Giant". He was always a steady source of love, guidance and support.
Larry is survived by his wife Tammy Laundre. Children Ashleigh Laundre and Mackenzie Laundre. Grandchildren Manny, Avani and Tajanae. His siblings; Bob Landry (Jean), John Laundre, Amy and Hudson Lane, Tom and Trish Laundre, and Lisa Verhaagh. Father-In-Law Jene Walters. Sister-In-Law Angela Bergner, Brothers-In-Law Randie Back (Hope) and Jene Walters (DeAnn).
He is also survived by 8 wonderful step siblings and their families. Nieces and nephews; Troy, Tina, Clark, Chris, Melissa, Shannon, Bill, Grace, Thomas, Brianna, Madison, and Sage Stahl. Nicole, Brandon, Dustin, Kayla, Emilie and Matthew. Twenty five great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death besides his parents and step mother Arletta Laundre, are maternal grandparents; John (Slim) and Emma Radej, Paternal grandparents; Peter and Mary Laundre. Siblings; Mary Laundre, Bill Laundre and Chuck Laundre, Theresa Stahl and nephew; Nicholas Verhaagh. Father-In-Law; Ray Back, Mother-In-Law; Sharon Walters. Thank you to all the care givers and administrative staff at the St. Vincent Hospital.
We will miss him deeply. He left an indelible mark on us all. He went too soon and should have had more time.
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you made.
