In loving memory of Lanna Rae (Thon) Kaneiss, who passed away peacefully of natural causes in Green Bay, WI surrounded with family by her side on the morning of Saturday, July 11th 2026. Lanna brought immeasurable love, laughter, and special duty of care into the lives of everyone who knew her. Born into a large family in Syracuse, Kansas on the 25th of October, 1951, she was sibling to her brother Larry Thon, and sisters Connie (husband Daniel) Young, Rebecca (Lee) Vallette, and Marsha (husband Skip) Crews growing up primarily in Kansas and Colorado. Throughout her life she enjoyed domestic and international travel as she resided in Kansas, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, California, Arkansas, Montana, Virginia, and ultimately settled in Wisconsin near her immediate family.
She loved adventurous outdoors activity, traveling, adoring time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and maintaining her countless friendships and relationships across the country, along with endless crafts and hobbies. Lanna will be remembered most for her absolute love of fishing with her loving husband, Scott. Her legacy shall live on through her surviving family; husband F. Scott Kaneiss, daughter Lisa R. Cedola (husband Ronnie), sons Robert I. Kaneiss (wife Feriel) and Toby S. Kaneiss, with grandchildren; Jennifer (husband Lorenzo), Sara (husband Smith), Howard, Cody, Jacob, Caitlin, Rayen and Sophia and also her great grandchildren; Vanessa, Journee, Natalia, Marissa, Dyllon, Aaliya, Donavan, Madilyn, Isabella, Cylas, Franklin, Adrian, Reymond, and Gabriella including her nephews Lance Young, Preston Young, and nieces Danna Young, Jamie Shepherd and Tara Burnett all who shall carry forward her spirit through loving memory.
Lanna was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was the cherished cornerstone of her immediate family. She will be greeted by our Lord and Savior and reunite with her loving parents; father, Wayne Edward Thon [1996], and mother, Twila Lee (Showers) Thon [2004], her sisters Connie (Thon) Young [2022] and Marsha (Thon) Crews, along with her loving daughter, Deanna Rae Kaneiss [2022].
A memorial Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled in the month of her birth, October 2026 in Wisconsin, service details to be shared privately with family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects.
