Kristie Lynne Gullickson Munro
May 15, 1956 – October 30, 2026
Some people have a way of bringing sunshine wherever they go…Kristie Lynne Gullickson Munro was one of those people. Affectionately known as “Sunshine” and “Mama Bear”
by many who knew and loved her, Kristie had a light about her that made people feel welcome, brought smiles to faces, and left an impression that lasted long after she left the room.
And if you knew Kristie, you might also have known her as “Gullible Gullickson.” A nickname she happily laughed along with, it was just one more reflection of her fun-loving personality and the laughter she brought into everyday life. Kristie didn’t take herself too seriously, and she had a way of making life a little more entertaining simply by being herself.
Born on May 15, 1956, Kristie was a longtime resident of Wisconsin, spending the majority of her life between Cambridge, Baraboo, and Two Rivers, Wisconsin, before making her final home in the town of Denmark for the last six years of her life.
She spent the majority of her career as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery. She loved bringing babies into this world.
And you probably wouldn’t be surprised that she once got written up for “being TOO happy.”
Kristie passed away in the mid-afternoon on Friday, October 30, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who will forever carry a little piece of her sunshine with them.
She is survived by her sister, Kim Swick; her daughters, Maggie Munro and Mollie Munro; her beloved grandson, Jack Michael Drossart; her nieces and nephews, Elysa and Ian Hellerman, their sons Eitan and Issachar “Izzy”; as well as Michael and Katrina Swick and their son, Wesley.
Though saying goodbye is never easy, Kristie’s story is not defined by her final chapter. It is defined by the laughter she shared, the people she loved, the memories she created, and the light she brought into the lives of others.
The world is a little less sunny without her, but those who knew Kristie will carry her sunshine forward. And perhaps, every now and then, they’ll find themselves laughing at a story about Gullible Gullickson, just as she would have wanted.
She will be loved, remembered, and missed dearly.
