Ken “Dean to family” passed away peacefully on Feb 17th. Ken was born in San Diago, California and moved to Green Bay in the summer of 69. He was the class of 79 at Green Bay Southwest High School. He started working for Amerhart at the age of 16 up until Dec of 2025 with 47yrs there. Ken was a hard worker but his nickname was “SLACKER”. He had spent 6 yrs in the Army Reserves. That was a good time in his life and anyone talking to him about it, you could see him light up.
Ken became a creature of habit visiting a few local establishments. First it was the Rendezvous, then Wallaby’s until they closed. Buster’s was a great local place where he became a regular until they closed and then it was D2’s on Packerland. Ken made friends at all of these places. Another family for him. He was having his retirement party that had to be moved up due to the progression of his cancer. Unfortunately, Ken was unable to attend. There were so many people that you really felt the love that they all had for him.
Ken will be sadly missed by all! Proceeded in death by his Mother Valery Fiala, stepfather John Fiala and Father Kenneth N. Sauer. Surviving siblings are Steve (Darcy) Sauer, AZ, Kara (Todd) Sederstrom GB, Kim Van Lanen GB and J. C. (Stacie) Fiala GB. Aunt and Uncle Denny & Mary Jo Wennisheimer, nieces and nephew Angel Buck, Kiley Van Lanen, Hunter Hulbert and Leah Van Lanen. Two dog nephews are King and Apollo. Not to mention all the aunts, uncles, and cousins out there on the Fiala side of the family. A Special thanks to his good friend Tom Harrison. You came back from Florida to be there for him, and I know that really meant a lot to him and his family!
Ken’s wishes were for no service but special instructions for spreading his ashes. Thanks to all for the kind words and being in Ken’s life.
