Kathleen A Fritz, 77, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. Kathie was born in Shawano, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1948, to the late Gordon and Patricia (Wall) Weber.
Those of us who knew Kathie know how kindhearted, giving, and compassionate she was. For many years, she was a pastoral minister within the Catholic diocese of Madison. She served parishes in Sauk City, Janesville, and McFarland. Kathie was also a chaplain at the UW Hospital. Kathie enjoyed being a longtime member of the Sun Prairie Civic Theater.
In Kathie's later years, she came to love canning and gardening. She and her longtime friend Patrick loved showing off the backyard flower garden to everyone in the neighborhood. When Kathie wasn't working in her own garden, she was volunteering at Klein’s Floral and Greenhouse.
Kathie will be deeply missed by her brother-in-law, Burt Parkman, niece, Aimee (Ken) Kapla, and her nephew, Heath (Lisa) Rienow; great-nephews Mitchel, Jack, Caleb, and great-niece McKenna. Additionally, Kathie will be deeply missed by many other special friends and relatives. Kathie is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barb (Weber). Parkman.
Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with Father Steve Kortendick officiating the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
A burial of cremated remains will be held at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at a later date.
There are many organizations that were near and dear to Kathie's heart. In lieu of flowers, the family will distribute donations accordingly.
