Karen (Katy) Beason

Karen (Katy) Beason, 81, of Manistique, Michigan passed away September 1, 2026 at HSHS Saint Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Karen was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 7, 1944 to Theodore and Sophie (Detzler) News. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. She married William Beason April 17, 1964.

Karen loved camping, watching the wildlife in her backyard and playing the slot machines at the casinos.

Karen is survived by her children Michael (John), Marti and Mark Beason; grandson Mark Beason II; brothers-in-law Wesley (Doris) Beason; Warren (Nancy) Pinkerton; nieces Donna (Tom) Phillips and Paula McKay; several cousins and great nieces and nephews; special family friends John and Pattie Starzynski. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband William; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Family would like to thank the nurses and cnas from the 9th floor of St. Vincent's for taking such good care of her during her stay.

There will be no services.
