John J. Larsen

March 2, 1932 — June 1, 2026

John Larsen, 94, long-time Howard resident, passed away June 1, 2026 after a short illness.

In his later years he enjoyed simple pleasures in life: watching cars passing the house, observing wildlife in his backyard and always a cold Bush Light beer.

John is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marion; his children and their spouses, Richard (Jill) Larsen, Susan (Dave) Peters, Sandra Janssen (Mark Przybylinski) and Linda (Tony) Dageenakis. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Kristi, Trent, Nikki, Brooke, Jessica, Courtney, Lucas, Kayla, Emily, Samuel, Jack, Danielle, and Lexi. Additionally, he is survived by 16 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Ellie Siebers and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert; grandson. Joshua Peters and his siblings Mabel, Earl, Tony, Bea, and Dolly. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Eli and Josephine Deneys and other extended family members.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Cardinal Ridge and his Unity Hospice team for the exceptional care and support provided to not only John but his entire family.

There will be no funeral service at this time. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
