Jeffery Hoffman

June 7, 1954 — October 27, 2025

Jeffery A Hoffman of Sheboygan, WI found peace and passed away at home on October 27, 2025, following a lengthy battle with various health issues.

Jeff graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1972, where he set multiple long-standing records in track and field and wrestling. Following graduation, Jeff proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1973-1977, onboard the USS Sarsfield.

Upon receiving an honorable discharge as a boatswain’s mate, Jeff and his fiancé, Julie Barbe, moved back to Sheboygan Falls from Mayport, Florida, where they married and started a family by welcoming the birth of their daughter, Jennifer. At this time, Jeff returned to his previous employer, Richco Industries, and dedicated the next 47 years where his steadfast work ethic and quiet leadership, left a lasting impression on those who worked beside him until his retirement in June of 2019.

Later in life he found true love again with Carol McQueen, his beloved life partner with whom he shared everlasting bond with for 30 years. Their relationship was built on laughter, patience, watching The Price is Right, and love that endured through all the seasons of their life.

Those left to honor his life and legacy include his daughter Jennifer Dyke Van Ess (Josh Van Ess) and children Kennedy Bitter (Kyle Hilbelink), Georgia Bitter (John Willis), Jada Dyke, Hailey Van Ess, and Dylan Van Ess; bonus granddaughter Lexi Kinnamon; and stepdaughters Kelly McQueen and Kelly Shunae Williams Dehait (5 children). All who adored him endlessly. To them, he was more than a father/grandfather; he was a storyteller, a protector, and a soft heart hidden beneath a tough exterior. They loved him beyond measure, and he loved them just as deeply in return.

He is further survived by his cousin, Kim Kallenberg, who was like a brother to him. They shared a lifetime of countless memories, laughter, deer hunting up north, and an unbreakable bond. Also surviving are his siblings Todd Hoffman and Julie Kopidlansky, cousins Kay Kallenberg and Karla Roedersheimer (Don), Julie Barbe, and extended family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved life partner, Carol McQueen; parents Warren and Lillian (Dallmann-Johnson) Hoffman and cousin Karen Sobczak. He will always be remembered for his humor, one-of-a-kind personality, and the countless ways he showed his love without needing many words. His stories, strength, and presence will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to call him family or friend.

A celebration of life for Jeff will be held on November 29th, 2025, from 12-4 pm at Humphrey’s Turner Hall in Plymouth. Bring memories and photos you may wish to share. Though he is profoundly missed, his family takes great comfort knowing he is at peace and reunited with Carol.
