James G. Rankin, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in Green Bay at the age of 69.
He was born in Bonduel on September 25, 1952, to James and Blanche (Wochinski) Rankin. He married Sharon Fleischman in 1974 and they had two children, James and Jenni. They divorced in 1984.
He was an army veteran, having served from 1970 to 1972. Recently he and daughter Jenni participated in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C., which he loved. He lived in Bonduel for most of his life, and moved to Green Bay in early 2020. He had various jobs over the years, including training as a plumber, but was most talented at being able to fix just about anything.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Fleischman (divorced) of Green Bay, son James (Sallie) Rankin of Bonduel, daughter Jenni (William) Stoltenberg and grandsons Nate and Graham, all of Green Bay; two brothers, Tom (Jolane) Rankin, Jay (Terri) Rankin, both of Shawano; and three sisters, Barbara (Dennis) Juedes of Moneta, VA, Shirley Rankin of Boulder, CO, and Jeanne (Jeffrey) Christie of Gays Mills, WI, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be on June 10th at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery, County Road BE and South Highline Road, just east of Bonduel. Military honors will be conducted. A “celebration of life” toast will follow at Club 117 in Bonduel. The family is being assisted by Simply Cremation in Green Bay.
