Jacqueline “Jackie” Lamont Wickman, 88, of Green Bay, WI passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2026. She very much wanted to spend her final days at home and she was successful. Jackie very bravely faced colon cancer and other health challenges for the last three years.
Jackie was born on November 14, 1937 in Ironwood, MI to Albert and Stella (Mackiewicz) Lamont. She was the oldest of four children. After graduating from St. Ambrose Catholic High School in 1955, Jackie moved to Los Angeles and worked in a bank for a year. She came home to Ironwood and met and married E. Ronald Wickman in 1959.
She moved to Eau Claire, WI with Ron and they had two children there, Mary in 1960 and Tom in 1961. A couple of years later Ron’s job took the family to Wausau, WI and Jackie had their third child, Sue, there in 1967. While in Wausau, Jackie was an avid bowler and bridge player.
In 1971, Jackie and the family moved to Green Bay where she remained until her death. In 1980 she started working at Ashwaubenon High School as a study hall monitor and quickly moved to become the in house printer. After retiring from that job, Jackie worked part time at Fox Valley Auto Auction until she retired for good in 2017. Jackie loved to collect crystal, silver jewelry, anything blue and anything sparkly.
Jackie was a life long reader and very rarely, if ever, was without a book and a stack of them ready to read next. Along with dogs, she also loved being online watching YouTube videos and using social media to keep in touch with family and friends. In her later years, Jackie was very involved in her grandchildren’s and great grandchild’s lives and loved nothing more than visiting with them and keeping up with their lives and travels.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bob) Aehlich, her grandchildren, Eli (Chelsie) Wickman, Elle (Rush) Henderson, Max (Jacqueline) Jorgensen, Megan, Anna and Bryn Aehlich and her great granddaughter Piper Jorgensen; sister, Marge Pidde; brother, Robert Lamont; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her in-laws Evar and Mary Wickman, her husband, Ron, her son, Tom, her daughter, Sue, her sister, Carol, her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Bette Wickman, and brother-in-law, Pete Pidde.
The family would like to extend their many thanks and gratitude to Roger and Robin Berth for their dedication to Jackie, Dr. Peter Falk, Unity Hospice, especially Sarah, CNA from Unity for her amazing compassionate care, Green Bay Oncology and to Dr. Evan Wenig, Green Bay Oncology, for his genuine compassion and empathy for Jackie.
Private services were held and the family plans a celebration of life at a later date. Or a party, as Jackie said.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Colorectal Cancer Alliance (colorectalcancer.org) in Jackie’s name are appreciated.
