Gregory (Greg) Lee Gessert

September 16, 1954 — September 2, 2021

Green Bay/Madison-Gregory (Greg) Lee Gessert passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2021 at 66. He was born to Donald and Margaret Gessert on September 16, 1954, and grew up in the Milwaukee and Madison areas. Greg attended Madison Memorial and graduated from UW-Eau Claire. Most of his career was in medical sales, because of his interest in biology and chemistry.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Greg is survived by his 3 children Erik Gessert, Michael (Stacey) Gessert, Elizabeth Gessert, his brother David (Mary) Gessert, his grandchildren Austin, Eleanor, Leo, Audrey, Lars Gessert and his ex-wife Mary (Gary) York; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

All who knew Greg knew that he would always be there to help a friend out in any way he could, with a smile and laugh that was contagious. He was an avid racing fan and would watch anything from cars to boats; as long as it had an engine, he was a fan. He had a passion for cooking with heat, listening to good music, and sharing his love for life with everyone.

In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made for a celebration of life to be held at a later date when we can enjoy some good music, friends, and food. Memorials can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of/greg-gessert/

All who knew Greg can attest that he would want a big gathering of those he cared for with more memories to be made.
