Gary A Thompson, age 75, passed away unexpectedly February 6, 2023 at St. Mary’s hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born July 26, 1947 to Ralph and Esther (Peterson) Thompson. He graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1965 after marrying his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Parma on November 28, 1964. He worked at Austin’s Supermarket and SuperValu warehouse as well as driving for Pulaski Bus Line after retirement where he really enjoyed transporting the kids to special events. He also served as a member of the volunteer rescue squad when his children were young.

Gary shared 58 years of marriage with his love enjoying many trips to Vegas, cruises, and Laughlin, NV both with family and on their own. The family cottage established by his parents when he was just a toddler was a major part of his life. It served to keep the family close often having 30+ family members there in a single weekend!

Gary is survived by his wife, Cheryl; 2 children Scott (Lynne) Thompson and Tammy (Ron) Kocken. Grandchildren and step grandchildren and great grandchildren : Justin (Angie) Thompson [Samara, Sydonia, Kaylee, Trey, Kevin, Shantelle and Ayden], Katie Thompson [Mya and Lennox], Trevor (Taylor) Thompson [Amara, Dawson, Elliott, Liam and Tyler], Mitchell Thompson, Julie DeJardin, Devin DeJardin, Zak Kocken, Jake Kocken, Courtney (Mason) Maus [Weston], and Drew Kocken. He is also survived by his sister Barb (Glenn) Parma, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Gary (Pam) Parma, Wayne (Carol) Parma, Mike Klinkner, and Chuck (Lynn) Parma as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Charles and Helen Parma;  brother Richard Thompson and sisters-in-law Jeanne Thompson and Joan Klinkner.

Family and friends may visit St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Green Bay, on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11 a.m., with Fr. James Lucas officiaiting.
