With grateful hearts and unwavering faith, we celebrate the life of Jane VanDyke, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on 7/4/26 at the age of 84.
Born on Oct. 20, 1941 in Fort Smith Arkansas Jane lived a life marked by steadfast faith, unconditional love, and joyful service to others. She was a devoted Christian whose greatest desire was to honor God in every season of life. Her Bible was well-worn, her prayers were constant, and her faith was evident in both her words and her actions.
Known for her compassionate heart, Jane dedicated much of her life to reaching others with the love of Christ. Whether visiting the sick, encouraging the lonely, helping those in need, supporting church ministries, or sharing the Gospel with neighbors, friends or those she didn’t know while working at Aunt Annie’s pretzels or even shopping, she faithfully served wherever God called her. Her kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart left a lasting impact on countless lives.
While her love for the Lord was the foundation of her life, her family was one of her greatest earthly blessings. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Holidays, family dinners, celebrations, and simple afternoons often had ice cream or cake and became cherished memories because of the warmth and love she brought to every gathering. She prayed faithfully for each member of her family and continually encouraged them to trust the Lord and walk in His ways.
She will be remembered for her jean skirts, loving spirit, warm smile, wise counsel, unwavering faith, and comforting prayers that carried so many through difficult times.
She is survived by her loving husband Arnold VanDyke, children Vickie Ann Litkey, Billie Jean Lewis, Julie Jane Spice, Patrick Eugene Berglin, grandchildren Damon Litkey, Danyale Litkey, Trish Lewis, Dennis Lewis Jr. Ashley Gonzalez, Mike Spice Jr. Jeremiah Spice, Joshua Spice, Isaiah Spice, and many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Donald Victor Schneider, mother Vallina Jesse Schneider, brother William Wayne Newton, and sister Patricia Ann Delvaeux.
Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice knowing that she has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23). Her legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 26th at Spirit & Truth Apostolic Church, with visitation beginning at 2:30 pm and the funeral service following at 3:30 pm with snacks, cake and ice cream to follow.
