Dwight J. Farrell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dwight J. Farrell on January 17, 2026 in Manitowoc, WI, after a short and courageous battle with leukemia. Dwight was born October 3rd, 1948 at St. Lukes in Milwaukee, the son of the late John and Eunice Farrell of Greenfield, WI. After graduating from Greenfield High School in 1967, Dwight joined the Marine Corps infantry and served two combat tours in Vietnam, followed by a tour as a small arms instructor. He was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart in 1970.

Dwight then met the love of his life, Bonnie (Lemke). They married in 1970 and initially settled in Milwaukee. He worked as a textile machinist and design and research specialist for 34 years in Milwaukee, Superior, and Sheboygan, mostly at Everitt Textiles and Wigwam Mills. Dwight and Bonnie had lived in Manitowoc for the past 20 years.

Dwight enjoyed bowling, golf and car racing and was an avid softball player, playing most of his games at the Wildwood Complex in Sheboygan. He loved his blue 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente and you could find him at many local car shows. Dwight was a passionate fisherman and had fished just about every lake in Wisconsin, with his favorite spots at Legend Lake and Lake Namakagon.

Dwight is survived by his wife and best friend, Bonnie; two sons, Chad (Carolyn) and Jason; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The Farrell family will be hosting a celebration of Dwight’s life at a later date.
