Duane C. Verhagen, 58, of Kaukauna WI passed away on August 29th at home.
Duane was born on January 21th, 1967 in Appleton to Harlen and Ann (Vander Horst) Verhagen. He grew up in the Fox Valley and was passionate about fishing as a child. Known for his quick wit, charm, and competitive spirit, he could often be found at the pool table, where he had earned a reputation as a true pool shark. His love of music also shone through in karaoke, where he never hesitated to grab a mic and bring joy to those around him.
More than anything, he was a devoted father to his son, Eli. The two were inseparable whenever possible, sharing adventures big and small. Whether it was helping with odd jobs, singing and playing pool, or just enjoying each other's company, everything he did, he did with Eli at his side. His role as a dad was the center of his world and his proudest accomplishment.
He will be remembered for his humor, love of music, competitive streak, how happy he was to be with Eli, and his loyalty to his friends.
Survivors include: His son Eli Verhagen, siblings Diane Verhagen, Marilyn Nooyan, Rose Stolzman (Dave), Tom Verhagen, Elizabeth (Gary) Vandenberg, many nieces and nephews, and his close cousin Theresa Biesterveld.
Preceded in death by: Parents Harlan and Ann (Van Der Horst) Verhagen, Siblings Gerald Verhagen, Ronald Verhagen, Randy Verhagen, Daniel Verhagen, brother in-law Ken Nooyan, nephew Mitchell Nooyen, and his close nephew Robert Verhagen.
Celebration of life will be held on October 11th, 1p-4p at Journey's Bar and Grill.
