Diane Betty Schubert

Diane Betty Jackson -Schubert, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on July 20, 2026 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Diane was born to Robert J. and Verona H. Humke Jackson in Marshfield, Wisconsin on August 9, 1944.

In Diane’s baby book, her mother, Verona, wrote “we sure got a lovely girl- and do we ever love her!” Diane spent her primary school years in Clark County, Wisconsin, surrounded by her grandparents and many other loving family members. After primary school, she moved with her family to Lake Forest, Illinois, where she attended middle school and high school. She graduated from Lake Forest High School and went on to attend University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.

Diane was a talented musician who is remembered for her piano playing. She was able to play anything, whether she was reading sheet music or improvising a tune. She was also known for her culinary skills. She will live on through many recipes, which are treasured by her family and friends. Diane loved roses, Red Lobster, beautiful clothes and jewelry, playing dominos, British period films and musical performances.

Diane’s faith was found in Jesus, and her life was formed by her love for her Savior and her assurance that she was saved by grace. She looked forward to the day when she would meet Jesus face-to-face. She spent many years of her life in church ministry, ministering to others through beautiful music, education, cooking- “lots of cooking”, writing, hosting and general Christian service.

Diane loved being a mother and had four children: David (Angela), Fred (Dawn), Charlie (Robin) and Sara (Mike). She was also a cherished and adored grandma “Zeezee” to seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her husband Bill Schubert of Green Bay, Wisconsin, her two brothers, Butch (Edie) and Scott Jackson of Sparta, Wisconsin and one niece, Holly (Ryan) Jackson Saunders of Waupaca, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her four children, sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

Diane was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Amanda.

Diane’s Memorial Service will take place on October 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Leon Cemetery, 19516 State Highway 27, Leon, Wisconsin. Immediately following her graveside memorial service, the celebration of Diane’s life will continue with a dish-to-share luncheon at the First Congregational Church of Leon, 19667 State Highway 27, Leon, Wisconsin, featuring dishes from Diane’s beloved and cherished recipes.
