Debra Kriescher, 71, Oconto Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at home after many years of health struggles. She was born June 9, 1955, in Oconto Falls, to Edwin and Adeline (Greetan) Cox. Debra grew up in the Town of Stiles, graduating from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1973.
On July 13, 1974, she married Peter Kriescher, Jr. in Lena. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for many years while raising four daughters. Debra enjoyed working in Physical Therapy at CMH and then running an in-home daycare while her girls were little. She went on to obtain her CNA license so she could work as a caregiver for the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Debra’s clients were like family to her, as many were invited to her home for the holidays. She had different jobs over the years, but all of them involved caring for others.
Debra was a breast cancer survivor. She found solace and strength being near the water and visited numerous lighthouses over the years. Debra was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. She will be remembered for giving the best hugs and her kindness.
Survivors include her daughters, Carrie (Chris Adams), Melissa and Valerie Kriescher; eight precious grandchildren, Haedyn Kriescher, Bellah Demerath, Dominic Adams, Lexie and Evan Sutrick, Joshua Kuchenbecker, Calysta Schaal and Jaxon Wagnon; sister, Bonnie Perrigoue; brother, Wayne Cox; sister-in-law, Judy Henrichs; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her cat, Rosie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter on January 20, 2017; her parents; daughter, Julie Kriescher Nicklas; Peter’s parents, Peter and Dorothy Kriescher; brothers-in-law, Steve Perrigoue and Gerald Henrichs; and sister and brother-in-law, Jack and JoAnn Osweiler.
Visitation will be held after 10am Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service at 11am. Burial of the urn to follow in the church cemetery. Burial of her daughter, Julie’s urn will occur at the same time.
