David Richard Nitka

David Richard Nitka, age 71 of Glenmore, died peacefully early Friday, August 7, 2026 at Aurora Hospital with family by his side. 

The son of the late Richard and Rosella (VanDalen) Nitka was born on February 3, 1955. 

He married the former Constance Lemerond on July 1, 1977 at the Moravian Chapel. 

David worked at Diana Manufacturing for 25 years as a forklift driver and later at Procter & Gamble and Milwood as a forklift driver. 

In his younger years he enjoyed boating up to Rock Island and riding his Harley, he also enjoyed playing his guitar and golfing. 

Survivors include his wife Connie and lab mix Frodo, two sisters Judy(David) Capelle, Nancy (Roger) Vandervelden, nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Craig and Peggy Lemerond. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and several dog buddies. 

A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date.
