Darlene Mary Daul, 69, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital, and went home to Heaven. Born on December 19, 1956, in Green Bay, Darlene was the daughter of the late Orville and Beverly (Gust) Daul.
Darlene was the Assistant Administrator of Santa Maria Nursing Home for more than 40 years. A proud graduate of Preble High School, she earned her degree in Business Administration from University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. Following her retirement, Darlene began exploring her interests in business and real estate.
Darlene deeply adored her daughter, Jennifer Sterrett, and cherished staying connected with family, neighbors, and friends. She shared 26 loving years with her longtime partner, David Staggs, with whom she enjoyed ballroom dancing and listening to blues music at Hero’s.
She had a passion for gardening, flowers, nature, music, dancing, biking, and adventure. Darlene especially loved looking through old photographs that captured treasured memories of her life and loved ones. She also enjoyed luncheoning with her daughter at Fox Harbor and striking up conversations with those around her.
Though she could be strong-minded and strong-willed, Darlene was equally known for her kindness and compassion. She consistently made both large and small gestures of generosity toward those in her life and was always willing to stand up for those less fortunate.
Darlene is survived by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Sterrett of Milwaukee; her longtime partner, David Staggs of Green Bay; her sister, Diane (Glenn) Blohowiak of Pulaski; her brother, David (Debbie) Daul of Green Bay; and her former husband, Jeffrey (Jane) Sterrett. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Kelly (Joel) Vincent, Jamie (Marcelo) Oliveira, Gina Blohowiak (Riki Nakasuji), Dana (Bryan) Pecho, Amanda Daul, Robbie Daul, and Nicole Daul. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Beverly (Gust) Daul, and by her brothers, Pat and Alan Daul.
A memorial service for Darlene’s family and friends will be held from 11am-3pm July 11, 2026, at American Legion Post #11, 1708 N Irwin Ave, Green Bay, WI 54302. Gathering of family and friends with light food and drink begins from 11-12:30pm, followed by eulogies and small prayers from 12:30-2:30pm.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Midwest Environmental Advocates or to organizations supporting individuals and communities affected by chemical injury and pesticide exposure.
