Daniel Vandenack

Dan Vandenack, 60, passed away on June 26, 2026.

He is survived by daughters, Bowie Bredael and Meghan (Derek) Klegin with son Callum; brother, Randy (Donna Franson) Vandenack; nephew Jesse Vandenack; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his parents James and Lavona Vandenack.

A short letter from his daughter Bowie is posted below:

It's not easy saying goodbye to someone you've missed and loved for the longest time. Knowing that no new memories will be made and having to cling on to those in the past creates a sense of longing for someone you won't get the chance to see in this life again. For now, I choose to cling on to every happy memory that we shared and I pray for you as you leave this earth. I pray you are watching college football all Saturday or yelling out Jeopardy answers all afternoon with a tombstone pizza on your lap. I hope you sit down with Grandma Lavona and Grandpa Jim at 3pm everyday while you chat about life. But mostly, I pray you will watch your daughters succeed and that you know how much we truly love you. Watch Meghan be an amazing mom, wife, and intrinsically motivated woman to do exactly what she puts her mind to. Watch me continue to grow up and find my happiness as I work through school and my life that follows. I could sit here and wish all things were different but for now, I just hope you know that as my dad, a special place in my heart will always be reserved for you. The next time we see you, you won't be struggling or hurting and I hope to be greeted with the biggest hug and smile because nothing from this life will matter anymore. I pray you find peace and comfort in the arms of Jesus and never forget how much your girls love you.

No formal funeral service will be held. The family will be gathering privately in his honor.
