Daniel Charles Radtke

Daniel Radtke, 69 of New London passed away on August 21st, 2026 in Appleton.

Dan was born in La Crosse on March 19th, 1957 to Marilyn and Charles Radtke, Jr. Growing up, he was known for being a star pitcher on his town’s softball team. Anyone who met him can tell you how quick-witted he was. One of his passions was REO Speedwagon, who he saw over thirty times.

In his younger years he worked as a CNA, and later earned a degree in drug and alcohol abuse counseling, and graduated with honors.

Dan is remembered by his children, Dana (Kaleb), and Lucas (Abigail) Radtke; his grandchildren, Roman, Layla, and Gabriel; sisters, Marion (Greg), Nancy (Brian), Kris, and Carrie; and multiple nieces and nephews, including Jeff “Moon Man” Miller, with whom he shared a special bond.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, and sister Charlotte.

REO Speedwagon said it best when they said:

“Oh, I've got to set myself free 

And that's just how it's got to be 

I know it hurts to say goodbye 

But it's time for me to fly.”
