Daniel Joseph Kappell

Daniel Joseph Kappell, 67, of Kaukauna passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16 at home surrounded by family. After battling a hard fight with cancer.

Daniel was born on September 27, 1958 in Kaukauna, WI, To Sylvester and Delores Kappell (VanderLoop).

He grew up in Kaukauna and worked at Thilmany’s paper mill for 20+ Years. On February 23 1999, Daniel married his soulmate and partner in crime, Kim (Birdie) Hurley. Together they enjoyed watching the Packers, movies, gambling, and spending time with family and friends.

Daniel will be remembered for his stories, jokes, sense of humor, contagious smile and laugh. Daniel is survived by his wife, Kim Kappell and their children Sarah (John) Hurst, Michelle (Michael) Kavajecz, Katie (Matt) Peters, Tyler (Elizabeth) Nelson. Grandchildren, Frank, Ben, Harper, Silas, Sully, Levi, and Shea. His brothers and sisters. Karen Kappell, Sue (James) Nelson, Ron (Linda) Kappell, Jill (Mike) Huss, Allen Kappell, and Mary Mary Ann (David Jr) Nagan, Donna Kappell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Delores Kappell, In-laws Ruth and Ralph Hurley, brother David Kappell, sister Joanne Wihksne, and grandchild Louis Nelson. Brothers and sister in-law Allen Wihksne, WIlliam Morrissey, Jean Kappell, and Steve (J.J) Seidl.

Preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Delores Kappell, In-laws Ruth and Ralph Hurley, brother David Kappell, sister Joanne Wihksne, and grandchild Louis Nelson. Brothers and sister in-law Allen Wihksne, WIlliam Morrissey, Jean Kappell, and Steve(J.J) Seidl.

A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Kaukauna, On Saturday September 26th @ 1pm.
