Daniel (Dan) Verhagen

February 28, 1962 — April 16, 2024

Daniel John Verhagen, age 62, of Appleton, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with his sister and favorite
dog, Lollipop, at his side. Dan was born on February 28, 1962, in Appleton, the son of the late Harlan and
Ann (Van Der Horst) Verhagen.

Dan is survived by his brothers and sisters: Diane Verhagen (Chilton); Marilyn Nooyen (Kimberly); Rose (David) Stolzman (Appleton); Tom Verhagen, Appleton; Betty (Gary) Vandenberg, Appleton; Duane Verhagen, Kaukauna, and sisters-in-law: Rogene Verhagen; Lynn Verhagen; Missy Verhagen DuFrane, his buddy, Tom Mancl, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Ann (Van Der Horst) Verhagen, his brothers: Gerald Verhagen, Ronald Verhagen, Randy Verhagen, and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Nooyen.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Grand Chute Town Center Park & Community Building, 1850 West Grand Chute Boulevard, Appleton - north of the Grand Chute Town Hall. Friends may visit the family from 4:30 P.M. until the time of the service. The Memorial Service will begin at 6:30 P.M. with Jeffrey Verkuilen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

The family would like to thank his nurse navigator, Nicole, at ThedaCare for answering the many questions we had during his treatment. We would especially like to thank the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice – Stephanie (Social Worker); Karen, RN; Stephanie, CNA (who came in on her day off just to say goodbye to Dan); and Brock, RN (who gave comfort during Dan’s last moments). Words can’t express
our deep appreciation.
